Today I will explore a subject that I constantly deal with in sessions with my clients: FEAR. Above all though, I will share with each one of you, a very effective tool from a being of light: Inelia Benz, that I found so powerful to PROCESS it.

Before I share this practical tool with you, let’s take a look at the definition of fear, or well, one of its several definitions. Fear, according to Wikipedia, is an emotion characterized by an intense and habitual unfavorable feeling that scares us or we believe could hurt us. It is provoked by the perception of danger, real or assumed, rooted in the present, future, or even in the past. It is a primary emotion that derives from a natural aversion to risk or threats, and manifests in both humans and animals. Terror, is referred to as a full expression of feelings of fear. Fear, is also related to anxiety.

As a Life Coach, I see fears as emotions that manifest in our lives in an infinite number of ways, some useful, and others paralyzing.

When fear appears as a preventive measure, it helps us make a decision; in a way it is an “indicator” that puts us in a state of alertness to point at courses of action when the road looks dangerous, or when the fire is threatening. In this case, we can use fear as a defense or survival mechanism. Because of this, fear can be useful in these instances. However, when it manifests as an emotion that “turns us off, paralyzes or blocks” us, fear minimizes us and keeps us “frozen”. It can be transformed into pain, a repetitive memory, words, or simply a feeling that oppresses us and ostensibly not allow us to act how we would really like to. In these moments is when we learn to process it.

If right now, you’re experiencing the last aspects of fear mentioned, feeling fear of failure, abandonment, acceptance, not being enough for someone else, professional and social performance, poverty, loneliness, or even fear of success, I will share an exercise that can be very useful from now on to you. You can practice it daily until you live fearlessly.

–          Preferably, pick a private and silent place. Get comfortable, either sitting or lying down with your back well supported, your eyes closed and your arms and legs open.

–          Do three long breaths: breathe in slowly, and breathe out quickly. When you breathe in send all the air towards your abdomen, and when you breathe out, empty your abdomen.

–          Now, pick the fear you want to process. You can write a list of your fears beforehand, and work through them one by one, with this exercise.

–          Once you’ve picked your fear, mentally scan your whole body, from your toes to the top of your head, and find where your fear is physically located.

–          If you’ve found it, WATCH IT, FEEL IT, OBSERVE IT. Simply notice its presence without analyzing or judging it.

–          Now, welcome the fear. Mentally, tell it: “Fear, you are welcome here and now: I welcome you”.

–          Keep observing the fear and thank it for its presence. Thank it for having been with you the time it was there. Thank it for the things that came into your life due to its existence.

–          Now, get closer to it, until you’re close enough to hug the fear. Hug it, and fill it with love and light.

–          Once you’ve filled it with love and light, then you are free to let it go towards the Source of all that is. Let the fear go freely.

–          Now, breathe deeply again: with each in-breath, breathe love and light, and with each out-breath, let that love and light fill the empty space that the fear used to occupy within you.

–          Breathe again, and with each breath, let your whole body, and being, be filled with love and light, until you feel it coming out of your pores and filling all the space that surrounds you.

–          Now, once again check yourself from head to toe to make sure all the fear is gone. If that isn’t the case, immediately carry out the exercise again. If the fear is gone, you can open your eyes and stretch your whole body.

–          You can repeat this exercise daily to process and free several different fears, until all of your fears have been liberated.
